The Level System
The PRIDE Kupono Academy will utilize a level movement system to monitor and improve the unmet needs for each student. Level movement will depend on acquiring a set number of points. Students who make it to Level 4 are showing self-direction and mastery over prior struggles.
You may lose points by doing one of the following:
Level 1 to Level 2: a total of 30 points are needed to move from Level 1 to 2. Students can earn up to 3 points per day (1 point for each of the following):
Level 2 to Level 3: a total of 40 points are needed to move from Level 2 to 3. Students can earn up to 3 points per day:
Level 3 to Level 4: a total of 40 points are needed to move from Level 3 to 4. Students can earn up to 3 points per day:

- cutting class (unexcused absence)
- insubordination
- chapter 19 offenses
Level 1 to Level 2: a total of 30 points are needed to move from Level 1 to 2. Students can earn up to 3 points per day (1 point for each of the following):
- being prepared and prompt for class (w/ ID, uniform, and class materials)
- understands and applies the rules
- staying on task
Level 2 to Level 3: a total of 40 points are needed to move from Level 2 to 3. Students can earn up to 3 points per day:
- same 3 expectations from Level 1, but points will be deducted if student is not prepared and prompt for class. A point will not be given for being prepared and prompt because at this level that should be a given.
- contributes their time and ideas to our class or community
Level 3 to Level 4: a total of 40 points are needed to move from Level 3 to 4. Students can earn up to 3 points per day:
- same expectations from Level 2, but points will be deducted if student is not prepared and prompt for class and/or not staying on task. Points will not be given for being prepared and prompt and/or staying on task because at this level that should be a given.
- displays the characteristics of PRIDE (Persistence, Respect, Integrity, Determination, Excellence) by using appropriate skills in difficult situations. All 5 characteristics must be shown throughout the day. If student feels that there was not an opportunity to show a characteristic they must explain that.
